Botox (or Botax) Treatments | What Are They?
Botox is a brand of botulinum toxin, a substance produced by a bacteria called Clostridium botulinum. Botox is also commonly referred to as Botax.
Botox treatments are given by injections of Botox.
In large quantities the substance is capable of causing paralysis. In smaller controlled doses, this paralysing effect is put to good use primarily in esthetics to weaken muscles and reduce or even eliminate wrinkles, especially in the face.
Botox (or Botax) treatments are essentially thus: the injection of small or minute measured doses of purified or refined botulinum toxin into certain muscles in the body to weaken (in small doses) or paralyse (in large doses), the end result being put to good use in:
BEAUTY ENHANCEMENT (Commonly referred to as BOTOX COSMETIC INJECTION)

Botox treatment is also used for elimination of benign essential blepharospasm, a condition which varies in severity ranging from an excessive blinking and spasm of the eyelids and surrounding muscles, sometimes lasting minutes or even hours, to milder versions such as uncontrollable twitching or tics of the muscles of the and surrounding facial area.
